Melanie

Tutor

Hello! My name is Melanie Martin. When I first looked at the West Norfolk Tuition website it was as a parent looking for GCSE science support for my child. As a family, we found Jane and her team superb and I am now fortunate enough to be part of that team. From a very early age I knew that I wanted to become a teacher and am proud to say that I have 34 years experience of teaching and 19 years of deputy headship. For the last 4 years, I have specialised in small group booster work and one to one tuition which I have found very rewarding. Since March 2020, I have extended my skills and furthered my 'on line' teaching techniques developing hands on resources that I provide for my pupils to have in their homes. I thoroughly enjoy helping children learn and teachers teach and have embraced opportunities becoming a Leading Literacy Teacher, Teaching and Learning Associate and DfE qualified Writing Moderator visiting schools in East Anglia. In addition to literacy, maths and cross curricular studies are particular interests of mine. My wide teaching experience allows me to utilise and select from a variety of pedagogies and resources, diagnosing the misconception and planning a bespoke approach to establish understanding of a concept or method. Studying Education and History at Bishop Grosseteste College in Lincoln provided me with a wonderful start to my teaching and I gained a Bachelor of Education Degree in Division One.
